About Ian Phillips

Voters of all parties need to know that Ian Phillips is a teacher, union organizer, and former Auburn School Board President who is running for Assembly to get money out of politics, lower the cost of living, and clean up our lakes. Ian Phillips has a long track record of fighting to keep families in their homes. Ian stood up to the big banks during the subprime loan crisis and developed a housing program that helped thousands of families from losing their homes. If we’re going to make Central New York affordable for everyone, we need a fighter like Ian. Voters should hear this message in their mailboxes, on the radio, and on social media.

Independent voters need to know that Ian Phillips will stand up to AI data center developers and fight for affordable housing and a lower cost of living. They need to hear this message on social media and on broadcast TV.

Voters need to know that Ian is endorsed by Congressman John Mannion, and by most major labor unions including SEIU, HTC, the NY AFL-CIO, and NYSUT.

Voters need to know that John Lemondes has a dangerous record of selling out Central New York to his corporate donors and abandoning the people of his district. He has accepted campaign contributions from NYSEG and other energy companies, as well as the Ranalli family, a Syracuse-based developer whose LLC is bidding to build an AI data center in Lysander. At the same time, energy bills are going up and Central New York families are being squeezed. We’re getting ripped off, and John Lemondes is helping the rich get richer while your bills get higher. Voters need to hear this message in mailboxes and on social media.

Independents need to hear that John Lemondes is a MAGA extremist who supports pardoning January 6 rioters, believes the 2020 election was “stolen,” and claims to be a family farmer but in reality is a multi-millionaire who hires migrant workers while getting over $50,000 in government subsidies. 

Democrats and Independents need to hear that the Finger Lakes are experiencing record amounts of harmful algal blooms (HABS) that turn the water green and can poison pets, wildlife, and humans, in addition to threatening the drinking water of more than 400,000 people. John Lemondes opposed updating watershed rules that would make it harder to dump HABS-causing chemicals into the Finger Lakes. He even opposed banning cancer-causing pesticides at children's summer camps. John Lemondes’ extreme views on the environment are dangerous and will actively poison our lakes and people. Voters need to hear this message on social media and traditional TV.

Democrat and Independent voters need to hear that AI Data centers pollute our water and air and prop up a technology whose proponents claim will cost us our jobs. John Lemondes SUPPORTS AI data centers in New York, and he has taken thousands of dollars from the data center developers, the Ranalli family, proposing a data center in Lysander. We can’t allow wealthy data center developers to buy our elected officials’ support. Voters need to hear this message on social media, mailboxes, and traditional TV.

All voters need to hear that John Lemondes has been one of the least effective members of the New York State Assembly and hasn’t passed a single sponsored bill into law in 3 years. He even avoids his constituents by no-showing to two of his own town hall meetings in recent months. Lazy Lemondes is hurting Central New Yorkers. We deserve someone who will show up and work for us, and that’s Ian Phillips. Voters need to hear this message on social media and traditional TV.
