<p><strong>Ever since the Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United ruling in 2010, dark money and corporate money have flooded our elections, and New York is no exception. </strong>Special interest groups like AI companies, cryptocurrency companies, and energy utilities have poured millions of dollars into campaigns to elect candidates who will be friendly to their interests.&nbsp;</p><p>Ian knows that the only way to stay free from this kind of influence is to reject donations from corporate political action committees and special interest groups. <strong>That’s why, as a candidate and as our Assemblyman, he will never take a penny in campaign contributions from any corporate PACs, lobbyists, or owners of these groups.&nbsp;</strong><br></p><p>Ian can’t be bought, and neither can Central New Yorkers. In the Assembly, Ian will propose legislation to make candidates make the same choice. If they take corporate money, they will not be eligible for the state’s matching funds programs. <strong>You have to choose where you get your support: the people or the wealthy.</strong></p>

<p>A political system where corporations and the wealthy can dump millions of dollars into our elections has to end.<strong> Ian will never take a penny in corporate money or from billionaires</strong>, and in the Assembly, Ian will support transparency rules and disclosures so that we know exactly who is funding attack ads and dark money attacks on our democracy, no matter what party stands to benefit.</p>
